EHR Drug Codes

Drug codes uses the trade names of the drugs. Each drug code must link to a drug formulary.

The clinic can add new drug code, if needed.

The sample database uses the drug codes of Malaysia's Ministry of Health [1]. The format of the codes is as follows:

Characters Description

15     Formulary code
2      Tradename registered

17     Total

For example:

Generic Name : Acyclovir 200 mg Tablet
Drug Code          Trade Name
J05AB01000T400101  ZORAXIN TABLET 200MG 
J05AB01000T400111  HEPIRAX 200 TABLET
